What are you looking forward to this summer?
Gaining hands on experience in the legal realm of social entrepreneurism, especially in New York City!
What are your goals?
To learn about the types of legal risks that Good Counsel helps social entrepreneurs and nonprofits avoid and gain experience in working with the trademark registration process.
Why do you support Good Counsel Services?
I support Good Counsel because you are doing work that is critical to making social advocacy possible for passionate and well-qualified social entrepreneurs. We need more non-profit companies like Good Counsel out there to catalyze difference-making.
What are you passionate about?
Music and traveling. In music, I am particularly passionate particularly about the various roles it plays in life. I am interested in music’s ability to connect, heal, and inspire. I am passionate about traveling because the privilege of immersing yourself in other cultures broadens our perspectives and critically builds empathy. Traveling and music have played a significant role in determining the direction of my life.
Why do you think it's important to give back to the community?
Giving back to the community is essential to our lives because it establishes connections of various impacts. This is what life is about. Communities provide stability.
Have you done any volunteer or nonprofit work in your past?
Through high school, I coordinated a fundraising program for the Children’s Miracle Network, headed a fundraising committee for the National Honor Society, organized a garden that grew food for the local food bank, and organized various fundraisers and drives for local organizations. I also volunteered at the hospital NICU, nursing home, and kids tennis programs. After high school, I spent some time working at my local YMCA and coaching a tennis team at an underfunded high school. I look forward to being a changemaker from another aspect of non-profit work.
What do you think it is most important for our readers to do in order to make a difference?
To realize that we have the greatest potential to make the most significant impact through the areas in which we are most passionate about. Whatever motivates you and impacts you the most in life is likely going to be what inspires you to spread that muse.
How do you personally try to make the world a better place in your life?
I try and be thoughtful. I believe firmly that through the little things, we can make some of the greatest differences. There are a lot of us in the world! We are like a large company which many different departments. We need to have people supporting each department while also maintaining global oversight.
Is there a specific organization or social entrepreneur that you are excited to work with that Good Counsel supports?
I am excited to potentially work with Cicerone Travel. I really believe in their mission and philosophy regarding how travel can help us explore our identities.
